Why We Support Him
Verrelli is a fellow building tradesman -- he's the president of Carpenters Local 254. He's also no stranger to politics, having served on the Mercer County Planning Board and the Mercer County Board of Chosen Freeholders before becoming an assemblyman.
As an elected official, Verrelli has been a staunch defender of the issues that matter most to union families: ensuring we're paid a fair wage for a fair day's work; that our job sites are safe; and that our benefits remain secure. He is also a champion of addiction counseling and addiction recovery, an issue with the potential to impact any of our brothers and sisters who get hurt on or off the job.
In the state legislature, he's become a strong voice for statewide responsible contractor language, which would ensure that public work done anywhere in New Jersey is subject to prevailing wage requirements and is performed by properly trained and apprenticed workers.
Our choice is clear, and we choose Anthony Verrelli.
