Why We Support Him
As a member of the powerful House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, Payne has been a fierce proponent of the Gateway Project to build a new rail tunnel under the Hudson River to connect New Jersey and Manhattan, which would improve commutes, create thousands of new jobs and put hundreds of laborers to work. He has also been instrumental in creating and promoting Infrastructure Week -- a week every May that promotes investment and improvement in transportation, energy and water infrastructure across the country.
Payne is also the ranking member of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Emergency Preparedness and has worked tirelessly to ensure that first responders have the tools they need to operate to and communicate before, during and after national and regional emergencies.
Our choice is clear, and we choose Donald Payne, Jr.
